Default Independent mechanic north NJ

Looking for an independent mech in North Jersey area, as my extended warranty coming to an end and my dealer shop connection moved to west coast, I need to find a decent independent shop near by. Thanks for suggestions.

I have heard good things about Elite Motors in Lodi, they specialize in Porsche and BMW. I plan to use them for some maintenance items I don't want to DIY.

if you don't mind crossing the Hudson - Rennwerke in Elmsford Westchester is great. Been there a couple of times for exhaust mods and maintenance those guys are real Porsche specialists and price is also reasonable (reasonable in tri-state standard lol).

Great, I actually travel there very often for work, not too far actually from where I live. Thanks for the heads up. Laughing at "reasonable in tri-state standard" ??

np. they run a tight ship there it's an operation with scale, typically you can drop your car in the morning and get it back later the day. just look at the number of Porsches on the lot, you know you're at the right place...

Speedwerks in Nyack, NY is another great option. Nyol is a real enthusiast and supports several local racers. His shop is no nonsense and he is a super honest guy.

Have heard many good things about Rennwerke - some close buddies have used that shop and have nothing but positive reviews. I use and really like Protosport - John and Paul are great - but while it used to be in Pompton Plains it is now in Whippany which may be too far west for you to be convenient. I live in NYC but work in NJ so that's an easier location for me to get work done (drop off AM/pick up PM). I really like the people at Stable Energies in Garfield a lot - but they have been down a tech for awhile and always seem slammed as a result.

I use PowerTech in rockaway NJ. They only work on Porsches and I’ve been happy with the service.
